Overview
A Primary Care Network (PCN) is a community-based network of health care professionals and clinics who plan and deliver the health care needs of a community.
Oceanside PCN is working with local clinics to help connect people to a primary care provider, either a family doctor or nurse practitioner. This includes people living in the following communities:
- Arrowsmith Coombs County
- Errington
- French Creek
- Lasqueti Island
- Lighthouse Country
- Nanoose Bay
- Oceanside Rural
- Parksville
- Qualicum Beach

Find a family doctor or nurse practitioner
If you need a primary care provider, register on the Health Connect Registry to get matched with a family doctor or nurse practitioner in your community.
Access urgent or same day care
Most clinics strive to accommodate urgent needs, but appointments are not guaranteed. If you are unable to see your own primary care provider, or do not have a primary care provider, contact Oceanside Health Centre or your nearest Urgent and Primary Care Centre.
Can a pharmacist help?
Your community pharmacist may be able to assess and prescribe for some minor health issues, prov ide vaccines, prescribe contraceptives, or provide an emergency medication refill. Search "pharmacy" above and check with the pharmacist to see if your condition or medication qualifies.

Pharmacists are an important part of your health care team and offer a variety of services. They are able to assess and prescribe for 21 minor ailments, prescribe contraceptives, renew prescriptions, and give vaccines.
Preventive health means taking proactive steps like screening to check for health issues, identifying and treating diseases at an early stage and slowing or stopping the progression of diseases.
