Healthy Schools BC Provincial Program

Launched in 2011, Healthy Schools BC (HSBC) is a provincial program that aims to promote the health and well-being of children within schools across British Columbia by:

  • Building the capacity of health and education partners to effectively implement health promotion initiatives that support the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development of children
  • Facilitating partnerships between the BC Ministry of Health, BC Ministry of Education and Child Care, health authorities, education partners, and other key organizations
  • Offering evidence-based information, provincial resources and tools

The HSBC program is guided by the Comprehensive School Health approach.

Healthy Schools BC

Healthy Schools BC offers evidence-based information, provincial resources, and tools designed to support the health and wellness of children in the school community. Many of the resources are designed for education and health professionals; however, can also be accessed by parents and other interested groups.
