Ethics Service
Offers confidential support services to help patients, families and healthcare teams who face complex, difficult ethical decisions. Areas of support include continuing or refusing treatment, end-of-life decision making, questions about a person's role in making healthcare decisions, treatment options, and different opinions between family members, as well services for healthcare professionals to guide ethical practices at the organizational level.
Provincial agencies include: BC Cancer Agency, BC Centre for Disease Control, BC Children's Hospital, BC Women's Hospital and Health Centre, and BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services.
