Laboratory Services

Provides general laboratory testing of blood and urine samples including microbiology, clinical chemistry, and hematology at patient service centres located throughout BC. Also offers occupational health testing, drug screening, and genetic testing.

Eligibility
Not all tests are accessible in all laboratory sites at all times; some tests require an appointment or fasting prior to specimen collection.
Application process
Physician referral and requisition form required; call lab in advance to confirm tests and availability.
Program fee
Most tests are covered by the BC Medical Service Plan (MSP). Patients will be required to pay for tests not covered by MSP, or if they do not have MSP or other provincial medical care coverage.
