Geriatric Acute Tertiary Inpatient
Provides inpatient tertiary care for older adults with serious mental illness or age-related psychiatric disorders, and who currently is a risk to themselves or others. The program provides assessment and treatment with a focus on diagnosis and stabilization of acute symptoms.
Services may also include occupational therapy related to functional issues such as swallowing, laboratory analysis and imaging, dietary consultation to address specific psychiatric and medical needs, and physiotherapy.

Eligibility
              Adults aged 65 and over with an age-related illness. Patients must have a documented history of failure to be managed in secondary and primary mental health community services.
