On November 30, 2021, content from HealthyFamilies BC moved to join the over 5,000 medically approved health and nutrition topics that exist on our site. HealthLinkBC.ca is now the Ministry of Health’s one-stop shop for health information in B.C.
We work with experts in healthcare to create health information that you can trust. Our content is reviewed by our internal clinical team, our team of registered dietitians and qualified exercise professionals and expert partners from the B.C. Ministry of Health and health organizations in British Columbia. We also work with our knowledgebase supplier Healthwise® to provide information on thousands of illnesses and conditions and other health topics.
Whether it’s finding important information about what to do when your child has the flu, or simply learning about healthy food choices for your family, you’ll find the information you need in this single online source.
Finding the information you need, when you need it, is easier than ever. Along with the addition of HealthyFamilies BC content, we also updated the look and feel of the HealthLinkBC.ca site. For the past 11 years, the HealthyFamilies BC website provided families with trusted health resources and information. It provided online tools, programs and resources on healthy eating, pregnancy and parenting, and activity and lifestyle.
The option to sign-up for HealthyFamilies BC content updates and newsletter subscriptions is no longer available. Instead, we encourage you to sign up for the Ministry of Health’s A Picture of Health e-newsletter.
A Picture of Health provides stories from patients and people working in B.C.’s health-care system. It highlights services available throughout the province, and explains how different parts of the health-care system work together to improve care for all people. If you are interested in receiving A Picture of Health updates, please subscribe here.
Some of HealthyFamilies BC tools require a bit more attention before we can make them available here on the HealthLinkBC website. These include Breastfeeding Buddy, Sodium Sense and Shopping Sense. We anticipate that the tools will be available soon. Stay tuned!
