British Columbia Specific Information
Healthy bodies come in many shapes and sizes. A healthy weight is one that contributes to your overall health, wellbeing, and quality of life. It is different for each person.
Speak with your health care provider if you are concerned that your weight is affecting your health. They can do a comprehensive health assessment and discuss treatment options.
Healthy eating and physical activity can benefit your health regardless of your body size or weight. For most people, participating in physical activity is safe. However, some people should check with their health care provider or a qualified exercise professional before they start becoming more physically active. For more information and support, call 8-1-1 to speak with a registered dietitian or qualified exercise professional. The service is available Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
