Scabies mites cause a rash and sometimes skin sores in a line or curved track. These often appear after a period of intense itching. Symptoms usually occur on the wrist, between the fingers, in the creases of the elbows or in the armpits, around the waistline, on the genitals, or around the anus. In children, signs of scabies may also appear on the neck, face, scalp, palms of the hands, or soles of the feet.
