HealthLink BC develops, operates and maintains a comprehensive non-emergency health information and advice service to the residents of British Columbia. Our services are available via phone (8-1-1), via web (www.HealthLinkBC.ca) and in print resources (BC HealthGuide Handbook and HealthLink BC Files).
British Columbians can contact HealthLink BC 24/7 from anywhere in the province by simply dialling 8-1-1 to speak to a registered nurse, dietitian or pharmacist specially trained to answer questions about health topics and procedures, identify symptoms, and help individuals decide when to see a health professional. Navigation services and referrals are also provided to other public and not-for-profit health services in BC.
Our website, www.HealthLinkBC.ca provides medically-approved information on over 4,000 health topics, symptoms and over-the-counter and prescription drugs. It also offers tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and an integrated search and mapping function to more than 4,500 health services in British Columbia.
HealthLink BC is part of the Emergency and Health Services Commission (EHSC),
which also operates the BC Ambulance Service.
